The writer of the book of Romans knew the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers. They knew that this power, if He was allowed, would not only change them but also their nation. Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:12 New living translation We need to take our lead from the patient, loving, perseverance that our brothers and sisters displayed almost 2000 years ago . Just as they changed the mighty Roman Empire over time, we can change Canada.   Your brothers and sisters over the millennium have been involved in most of the major social reforms across the globe. From animal rights to anti slavery Jesus has motivated His people to protect life, bring freedom and honour His creation. Our job in this generation is to fight the same fight they fought and fight it the same way they did. So what needs to change? “Our actions can influence the lives of others. If we see someone being hurt, do we personally intervene, or silently pass by.   Each and every day we choose - that is culture”  To change our culture - We need to allow God to change us. As we pray for and respond differently to our co workers, neighbours, and friends, they are impacted. We have just changed culture - for WE R CULTURE
As a Christian believer, we are not helpless! We are NOT powerless individuals in a vast country. Jesus said that we ARE “the salt of the earth” Matt 5:13 - we ARE a flavour enhancing preservative. We ARE “the light of the world ” Matt 5:14 - shining the love and power of Jesus to Canada. Right now there is an unprecedented attack on our faith and beliefs. How do we stand? What do we do? How can we reclaim the heritage that our Canadian forefathers set in motion, and that we now see being eroded?
Culture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, defined by everything from language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. Our actions can influence the lives of others. If we see someone being hurt, do we personally intervene, or silently pass by.   Each and every day we choose - that is culture”  S. Burke “All that is best in the civilization of today, is the fruit of Christ’s appearance among men.” Daniel Webster, American politician., 1782-1852 When asked which person left the most permanent impression on history, he replied that judging a person’s greatness by historical standards: “By this test, Jesus stands first.” “I am a historian, I am not a believer, but I must confess as a historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the very center of history. Jesus Christ is easily the most dominant figure in all history.” “Christ is the most unique person of history. No man can write a history of the human race without giving first and foremost place to the penniless teacher of Nazareth.” H. G. Wells, British writer, 1866-1946
